Android TV application provides to end-users the possibility to watch live streaming (Channels menu option) or video on demand (Video Library menu option).
To watch live streaming a user should choose Channels option and press OK:
After that, the Channels screen will open with a list of available channels and channel categories.
To choose a channel to watch a user should select a channel or category by UP, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT arrow keys. The selected category or channel will be highlighted. When a user will press OK on a chosen channel, live streaming will start.
To choose a program to watch a user should press OK on live streaming and navigate to the Electronic Guide Program (EPG) by RIGHT arrow key.
When a user press OK on the EPG icon, an Electronic Guide Program (EPG) of a chosen channel is shown. On the EPG the program currently playing is marked by a ‘LIVE’ icon.
As categories list, channels list and EPG information are sent to the application by the Middleware, a situation when a channel is displayed without TV programs guide is quite possible:
To watch videos on demand, a user should choose the Video Library option on the main menu screen and press OK on the remote.
Films screen will open with a list of available movies and movie categories.
To choose a movie to watch a user should select a channel or category by UP, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT arrow keys. The selected category or movie will be highlighted. Also, a user can navigate to the full categories list by choosing to See all button.
When a user will press OK on a See all button, the Genres screen will open.
When a user will press OK on a chosen movie, the movie details screen will open.
Then a user should press OK on a Watch now button and the movie will start playing.
