This thread requires an update. To install the firmware update, you have to plug the USB drive into the Alfa Box and NOT unplug the device.

If you unplug it and plug it back in and press the menu button, the blue screen will load. However, the box won’t engage the USB device. As a result, the box won’t pull the software from your USB.

You have to update the firmware using the SETUP button. Click ‘Setup’ and then scroll down and click Software Update. You then have to choose USB and not HTTP and it will update the software.

The USB only engages when the box is turned on normally. If the blue screen is on, the USB won’t be engaged. You can only update the firmware through the settings area by pressing the ‘setup’ button and then clicking ‘software update’. Select USB where it says HTTP and confirm to update the firmware.
